i always love the stories you tell with these games!! i won't spoil anything, only that this feels like the video game equivalent of a 500-word short story that you finish in a few minutes and that sticks with you for ages. kudos!
It was interesting at first but I feel like I'm missing something. Is there more to this or do I just keep bringing the water? I did it 3 times but nothing changed even when I talked to the guards multiple times.
Also, not sure if there is suppose to be sound or not but I don't hear anything.
Either way it is still good for what it is and I would be interested to see what a larger scale version of it would be.
Thank you for playing!
Bitsy games do not support sound (to my knowledge), so you aren't missing anything there! As for the loop, I see it was unclear; bitsy games automatically restart upon reaching the end. Once you reach the final room nothing new will change about the experience. While you might consider the looping nature a part of the story, you needn't worry about missing anything there either.
If I ever update or expand this little game I'll let you know. I'm glad you enjoyed it for what it is!
OK, then that makes way more sense. Thanks for clarifying.
I don't really know anything about Bitsy so I suppose I was setting myself up for confusion.
It's useful feedback that someone unfamiliar wasn't given enough information to understand! I might update the page later to give some more scaffolding.
If you're interested in playing more little games in this engine (or making some yourself!) I highly recommend starting here: https://ledoux.itch.io/
Ledoux made the engine and has some games that are far more complicated than this one you can try out. He also keeps a collection of other people's games on his page!
